April is autism acceptance month. “My brother Otto", by Meg Raby is a story that highlights the differences and similarities between neurotypical and neurodivergent children. Through the use of colorful language, “My Brother Otto” encourages young readers to approach others with empathy and open-mindedness. The story is told from the perspective of the older sister of a boy with autism. She explains that although her brother Otto may seem different, he's just like any other kid. I would absolutely recommend this book to young readers because it talks about patience and stresses the importance of trying to understand people that are different to you.
