“Festival of Colors” by Suristha Sehgal is a colorful children's book about the Indian festival of “Holi.” The book follows two siblings, Mintoo and Chittoo, as they prepare for the festival. The book positively represents south asian culture in a way that is easy to understand for children. Through the use of eye-catching the story introduces readers to a sacred part of the Hindu religion and culture.

Meet our Director, a Sophomore at Hayfield Secondary School who has a deep passion for inclusivity and social justice. Inspired by her older sister Ava's work, Ella plans to bring new ideas to Represented Reading. She is excited to share her perspectives and get hands-on experience visiting elementary schools and reading to classrooms.
